WOW Doctor, by Dr. Ogi Ressel

Tuesday, January 27th 2009

Warm hellos to everyone!

I have to tell you....I just had a most wonderful weekend!
I had the joy and absolute honor of being the keynote speaker at the
Allied Health Chiropractic Centers Fall Convention in Wausau, WI.
Wausau?
Yes, Wausau.
I know, I know....it's right next to that cookie crumb stain on your map.
Small place - huge thinking!

The Allied Health team comprise of some 90 offices across four states in
the Mid West. Wonderful people, and warm friendly smiles.

After spending the weekend at the Lodge at Cedar Creek in Wasusau,
and meeting the Doctors and staff of this corporation, I am absolutely
amazed why all doctors in Wisconsin and the neighbouring states don't
belong to it. These people have a very good sense of direction, are willing
to listen to opinions, are warm, family oriented, and absulutely driven to
spead the Chiropractic Wellness message across the planet. Under the
leadership of Dr. Scott Bautch, I firmly believe that they will do it!

Dr. Scott mentioned something that prompted this THOT.
He said that when in a social situation, we are often asked:
"So what do you do?"

Here is a very common answer:
"I am a Chiromumblemumble."
"A what?"
"A Chiropractor."
"Oh."  - another common answer.
In other words, we are an "Oh Doctor."
And we feel crappy when people we meet give us this type of response.

I thought about this and I have to admit that he is right - many people
do feel that we are "Oh Doctors." And I want you to know that this is totally not Ok!

I suggest to you that it is absolutey within your power to change this perception
- one spine at a time.
I suggest to you that when people meet you for the first time and ask you what
you do, the convesation should go something like this:

"So what do you do?"
I am a CHIROPRACTOR!!!"
And here's their answer: "WOW!!!"
So, ......I want you to be a "WOW Doctor!"
Listen up...you have the greatest gift in your hands - no one does what you do.
No one!

And the really cool thing is that people want what you have. They do not want more
medicine - that system is failing. They want what you do.
The only problem is they don't really know what YOU do! And they get mixed messages.
Some think you are a clever salesman, some think you are a vitamin rep, some feel
you a a masseur, others think you crack backs, still other feel you are a marketing
wizard, a preacher, etc.
And only some of them feel you are a fantastic doctor.

In order for you to be a WOW Doctor, however, you must simply WOW your
community - you need to have people see you as the best. Not just Ok, not fine,
...and you can't be an MD. You cannot be a Mediocre Doctor! No.
Not just tremendous, and not even fantastic. No. The best. End of story.

In order to be a WOW Doctor, your community must be buzzing about you.

So here's my challenge: We need to become the best doctors our communities
have ever seen. Ever. Not the best at marketing, or sales, or BS. No.
The best at being a doctor! There's a concept!
So good, that people are talking about you everywhere. So amazing, that
patients fly in to see you from other locations. And so human, that others
are simply drawn to you.

And that is what I teach.

If you'd like to learn how to be the best, please join with me - it will be a thrill of a ride!
Please feel very welcome to call me and let's change this perception of who we are.

Let's all become WOW Doctors!

Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
