Weeding Your Practice, by Dr. Ogi Ressel
Saturday, February 14th 2009Warm hellos to everyone!
I just finished Module I of the Niagara Falls Program and we had an
absolute ball!
I love to see certainty, power, vision, and prosperity in the eyes of all the doctors!
The result is that have not had the time to write a full-length THOT for you.
BUT, I do want to share one tid-bit with you which I feel is very important.
How many of you have noticed that the only people in your office are
people you like?
Yes...All your patients in your office are people that you like. What a concept!
So...what happens if there is someone in your office that you don't like?
Well....one of you will probably leave.
Let me give you a hint as to who it could possibly be.
It's probably not you!
Why?
Because it's your office. (I love deductive reasoning!)
I mention this concept as there are a number of doctors who keep patients
because if they don't, there will be one less who will pay their bills. They
hang onto everyone out of fear of loss.
This is a "survival mode" mentality.
The solution is easy.
You need to clearly understand, and have clear certainty of the fact that
people need you - you do not need them!
You see, practice is not a "needing" game - the doctor needing patients. No.
Practice is about patients needing the doctor. End of story - I am absolutely
resolute on this idea! This only happens when your community begins to
see you as the very best - which happens to be what I teach. It is not only
clinical excellence they seek. No.
They also seek an amazing human being as well - warm, sincere, honest,
empathetic, dedicated, passionate, committed, etc.
So....the mindset of the doctor must come from a positionn of strength,
power, and certainty - not from a need.
When this happens, you will be faced with the prospect of "weeding" your
practice - of letting go of some of the "dead wood" that has been sapping
your healing energy. Not Ok!
It is absolutely Ok to let some people you've hanging onto, go - See you.
Happy trails.
Have a nice life. Don't call me.
Of course, you'll do it in a very professional manner. But the result is the same.
They are gone from your universe. This is a good thing!
Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
